Computerized Physician / Provider Order Entry (CPOE) incorporating evidence-based guidelines and Clinical Decision Support (CDS) is a fundamental element of HITECH. Gaining sustained physician adoption of EHRs and CPOE is essential to realize quality of care and cost savings goals and, ultimately, to transform the US Healthcare system.
